It is cold, I mean BRRRRRRR cold here in Indiana. Not as bad today as it has been, but 10 degrees with the windchill is bad enough I say. Yesterday it was even colder and the hubby and I just couldn’t get warm! He made a cup of coffee in the afternoon and I decided to make a cup of hot cocoa (I am not a coffee drinker). I haven’t had hot cocoa in more than a decade, but it really sounded good. After 2 cups, my feet were finally warming up and I had gotten rid of the chill.
Since it is snowing today (I am hoping for a foot of snow, but I am sure I will be disappointed again), I decided to put together a super simple hot cocoa bar so that I could make a cup and have everything all together in one place.

Now just let me say, that I am not one for whipped cream and toppings in my hot cocoa. Give it to me plain, chocolaty, and hot. But, if the grandlittles come over, they will surely want to add toppings to theirs so I rounded up some goodies they can put in their cups.
Must Have Ingredients for a Super Simple Hot Cocoa Bar
- Hot chocolate pods
- Chocolate chips
- Teddy Grahams
- Pepperidge Farms Pirouette chocolate fudge cookie sticks
- Ball jars
I checked out Pinterest, just to get some ideas on how to set it all up. Boy, are there some fancy hot cocoa bars on Pinterest! The point of being super simple is, well….keeping it simple. So, I grabbed 3 small Ball jars and put the toppings in them and 2 large Ball jars for the cocoa and the cookie sticks (the cookie sticks are for the adults 😉 ).
I am using hot chocolate pods, they go right in the Keurig and BAM! Hot chocolate in just seconds. It doesn’t get any easier than that!
I made some tags just to give it a little personality and tied them on with some ribbon from my stash. Arranged it all in a tray and it was done! Super simple. I know that says Gingerbread Men and I am using Teddy Grahams, but you have to use your imagination (or make some little gingerbread cookies, whichever floats your boat)
You can get the tags for yourself, no strings attached, just click on the picture of them below, print them out and add them to your hot cocoa bar.
Now I think I will go make a cup for myself and cozy up under a blanket with the pugs and watch it snow.
Talk to you soon!!
